SUPPORTED PROGRAMS

At Blackhawk Middle School, we support programs that gives students a place to show up, try new things, and build confidence alongside their peers. These efforts are focused on connection, participation, and creating positive school experiences for students.

Dare to Dream

A supportive program for middle school girls, especially those underrepresented in academics and career spaces. It provides a safe and encouraging environment where students build confidence and begin thinking about their future.

HAWKS

This program gives 8th graders the opportunity to serve as role models and mentors for 6th graders by supporting advisories and participating in school and community events.

Student Council

This program is your chance to lead, plan fun events, and make real changes in our school and community. Members help plan spirit weeks, fundraisers, and assist with schoolwide activities while learning how to give back and work together.

Scholastic Bowl Club

For almost two decades, this club has offered students an enriching opportunity to showcase their knowledge across a wide range of subjects, including science, math, social science, language arts, and general information.

LEADERSHIP AT A GLANCE

There are currently two teen-led spaces:

The Hawks

A school-based group connected to Blackhawk Middle School. Hawks focus on service and showing up for the community through volunteer efforts and local events.

Community-Based Group

Made up of teens from across Bensenville. This group started at Elm Court Apartments and has continued to grow. Teens meet for discussions, activities, and volunteer opportunities.
