Volunteer Spotlight- Leading With Heart: Maryann J.

Maryann J. has been volunteering with DuCAP since January 2023, and she has been such a steady and caring presence in our Bolingbrook community ever since.

After retiring as a physical therapist, Maryann was looking for ways to stay involved and give back. DuCAP gave her that opportunity, and she jumped right in. As the Adult Chair of our Bolingbrook Leadership Group, she shows up with an open heart, a willingness to learn, and a constant readiness to support our teens as they lead.

Maryann's commitment to serve goes beyond DuCAP. She is actively involved at the St. Francis of Assisi in Bolingbrook and volunteers with the DuPage Township Food Pantry, always finding ways to help where she's needed.

When asked what's her why, Maryann shared:

"When my daughters were in school I was involved in many of their activities, so when I retired I looked for volunteer opportunities. DuCAP has given me the opportunity to engage and mentor teens, to meet new people, and give back to my community."

Outside of volunteering, Maryann enjoys spending time with her family and attending book clubs at the Fountaindale Library. We are incredibly grateful for Maryann, for the care she not only pours into our teens but for the example she sets of what it looks like to truly invest and give back to better your community.

So, what's your why?

If you've been looking for a way to get involved, give back, or make a difference in the lives of teens in your community, we'd love to have you join us.
