At DuCAP, we believe teens should have real opportunities to lead and make an impact in their communities. This month, we’re proud to highlight Alex Ricardo, our Glendale Heights Teen Leadership Group Leader.

Alex has been involved with DuCAP for almost two years, and during that time he has consistently stepped up as a leader among his peers. One of the first large events he participated in was Intern for a Day on June 13, 2024, where teens had the opportunity to connect with professionals and explore different career paths.
Since then, Alex has played an active role in helping DuCAP connect with local youth and strengthen community engagement.
As a Teen Group Leader, he helps guide conversations, organize activities, and encourage other teens to get involved. He has also represented DuCAP in meetings with village officials and supported youth committees by helping establish roles and activities that allow teens to take ownership of their leadership.
Outside of DuCAP, Alex enjoys spending time outdoors. Hiking is one of his favorite ways to decompress after long days, especially during the fall and winter months.
When asked why he volunteers with DuCAP, Alex shared:
“I Volunteer with DuCAP because it matters, and I truly enjoy helping others. Making an impact is what I live for, because people matter.”
We are incredibly proud of the leadership Alex continues to show and the example he sets for other teens in our community.
