Job Description
Program Leaders are responsible for developing and leading youth-inspired activities and seasonal programs for small groups of local youth ages 11–17. This role focuses on creating a welcoming, engaging environment where young people feel comfortable, included, and supported. Program Leaders work directly with youth through hands-on activities such as games, group discussions, creative projects, and casual hangouts. The goal is to build relationships, encourage positive engagement, and provide consistent adult support during program time. This is primarily a seasonal, part-time role but may be expanded or offered at other times throughout the year with pre-approval from DuCAP Central.
About the Company
DuPage County Area Project (DuCAP) is a community-based nonprofit working across seven communities in DuPage and Will counties. We partner with neighborhoods, schools, and local leaders to support the youth and families through programs rooted in connection and collaboration.
Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent (college coursework or experience preferred)
Experience working with youth ages 11–17 in a community, school, or recreational setting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Comfort engaging youth through games, activities, and group interaction
Reliability, flexibility, and availability during program hours (evenings/weekends as needed)
Key Responsibilities
Plan and lead youth-inspired activities and seasonal programs
Create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for youth participants
Engage youth through games, group activities, and informal interaction
Build positive relationships with youth through consistent presence and support
Follow program guidelines, schedules, and safety expectations
Communicate with DuCAP staff regarding program needs and updates
