Job Description
The Program Assistant supports the development, coordination, and implementation of activities, events, and seasonal programs for youth ages 11–17. This role works closely with program staff to ensure programs run smoothly, remain engaging, and align with DuCAP’s mission. The Program Assistant plays a hands-on role during programs and events, helping create a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for youth participants.
About the Company
DuPage County Area Project (DuCAP) is a community-based nonprofit working across seven communities in DuPage and Will counties. We partner with neighborhoods, schools, and local leaders to support the youth and families through programs rooted in connection and collaboration. At DuCAP, youth take the lead in shaping programs and opportunities that matter to them, while adults provide guidance, stability, and support. This teen-led, adult-supported approach helps ensure programs are responsive, inclusive, and grounded in the needs of each community.
Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent (college coursework or enrollment preferred)
Experience working with youth ages 11–17, in school, community, or recreational settings
Strong communication and teamwork skills Reliability, flexibility, and a willingness to support a variety of program needs
Ability to work evenings or weekends as required by program schedules
Key Responsibilities
Assist with planning and coordinating youth activities, events, and seasonal programs
Support program staff during on-site programming and events
Help monitor program participation and engagement
Assist with setup, breakdown, and logistical needs for programs
Support communication with youth participants, families, and volunteers as needed
Ensure program activities follow safety guidelines and organizational expectations
