Community Services Program: Neighborhood Based

The Community Services Program (CSP) is DuCAPs main funded program. CSP is 1funded under the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Community Services Contract. It is comprised of three main program types: direct service, advocacy and community organizing.

One of the most essential features of DuCAP is the initiation of programs of cooperative action on the part of the residents of small localities, communities or neighborhoods where local conditions impose serious obstacles to the normal development of children.

CSP develops DuCAP programs and services based on identified community needs using a process that:

  • Defines a problem or set of problems as requiring priority attention.
  • Explores the availability of other resources in the community to address this problem.
  • Determines that the Affiliate has the capacity to address this problem.
  • Designs and tests the effectiveness of one or more program interventions.

The DuPage County Area Project (DuCAP) is dedicated to
advocacy on behalf of youth and
other resident concerns.

DuCAP provides direct service
for youth and adults.

DuCAP facilitates community organizing
directed toward improving
the quality of neighborhood life.
