APRIL 2011
Dollars for DuCAP. Our fourth annual "collecting change" fundraiser for DuCAP Programs took place the weekend of April 16th, 2011. Volunteers stood outside the Bolingbrook Wal-Mart and Romeoville Jewel and collected dollars from residents of the community.
Even though the weather did not cooperate, our volunteers were able to raise over $500! Funds will go towards DuCAP Programs.
Thank you to our volunteers and both Wal-Mart and Jewel for this great opportunity to raise funds and advertise how DuCAP helps families in Bolingbrook and Romeoville.

BUILDERS CLUB SPENDS DAY SOCIALIZING AT SENIOR STAR.

On March 12, 2011, Builders Club took a trip to the senior center. While we were there we played games and did puzzles with the seniors. We played games like Scrabble, Uno, Go Fish, Sorry, and Apples to Apples. The seniors looked happy to see us. All of us had a great time. It felt great to be helping out the community. Also while we were there we watched TV with the seniors. There was a therapy dog and it was a golden retriever and Ms. April brought in her dog also.
Each Builders Club member was paired up with a senior and they either chose to play games or do puzzles. It was a great experience for all of us. We also got cookies afterwards and while we were waiting for our parents we played games with each other. A funny thing that happened was that they had a piano that played by itself and everybody thought it was a ghost.
Builders Club is a great club because you can help the community but have fun with your peers at the same time. It is also a great way to make friends and meet new people because we also do projects with other schools.

On 2/14/11, Builders club helped at a local food pantry. Builders club members had a lots of fun while getting out and helping the community. This was the second time they have volunteered there. Builders club had a overall great service project.
Builders Club Members were very high in attendance. They started out by helping in the warehouse, were members helped get food out and prepare for the service. Some members helped customers find food, while others helped re-stock food. It was fun, but very helpful. At the end, members watched a power point about how the food pantry helps the community. Overall, Builders club put in two hours of community service.
Members were very happy with the service. One member said, '' It felt very good to get out and help out my community, and to enjoy the service with my friends.'' Builders club emphasizes community service and they did just that. Overall, Builders Club did an amazing job!
